An option for mildly misaligned teeth
Do you want straighter teeth but are concerned about the visual effect of metal braces?
Not everyone has teeth badly out of place but many still prefer a neater appearance, either because it is easier to bite or it simply looks more presentable when you open your mouth.
People whose teeth are mildly misaligned, but enough to affect appearance as well as chewing and eating, don’t have to use traditional metal braces to correct the misalignment. Invisalign allows for the straightening of teeth without the use of tradition metal braces. These are removable aligners that can shift teeth that are affected by mild to moderate misalignment.

How Invisalign can help misaligned teeth
Pictures, x-rays and impressions of your teeth help to determine whether clear aligners like Invisalign will do the job of gently realigning your teeth. From these pictures, a digital three dimensional image will be created. This will enable us to work out an exact treatment plan, which includes the precise movement of your teeth.
Your jaws must be in correct alignment and you must have good overall oral health to be a candidate for Invisalign.
The treatment time can also be calculated from the initial assessment and images taken. Typically, the treatment time can take up to 12 months for adults. For teens, the treatment time is comparable to the time needed for traditional braces.
Custom made aligners at Quarry Park Dental
Once we have created your treatment plan, a set of clear aligners are custom-made, just for you.
The aligners are plastic free of BPA that are comfortable and won’t cause any irritation to your cheeks and gums which traditional metal braces tend to do.
You will be told to wear them during the day, and take them out when you eat or when you brush and floss. You will be need to wear them for no less than 22 hours a day.
It is best to follow the instructions you get closely, otherwise, the process of teeth realignment could be delayed.
Each set of aligners is normally worn for around 2 weeks. When you change to the next set, this will help to mark the progress of your teeth movement. Every 6 weeks or so, you will need to see your dentist who will check how your teeth have been moving.
